Final Day at Texas Stadium

The end of an era. As of today, the stadium where the Dallas Cowboys played for over 30 years will be torn apart piece by piece and sold to the highest bidder. We took the Texas Stadium tour on the last day. Along with about 2000 other fans. The tour was no big deal...stadium club...locker room...tunnel...field. My boys had no idea what any of it was about. But they had fun tackling Daddy on the field. Someday when they are older, maybe they will get it.
Wyatt's bedroom is done in western cowboys, so he was actually a little confused. I guess he never understood what it meant when Greg taught him to say Go Cowboys!

First Poopy on the Potty!

Too Cute not to share. He looks so happy. It is not very often that you catch one of your children's "firsts" on camera. We have just been in the right place at the right time with Wyatt on a couple of occasions, however. I was also lucky enough to catch his first ever smile on film. Now how often does that happen?
I do think that of all the pictures that will come up at momentous occasions in his life (1st girlfriend, graduation, wedding...) he will hate this one the most!

Catch Up

OK-- one of the reasons I started this blog, besides avoiding work, was to record the wonderful, cute, and sometimes crazy things my children do and say. And I have been slacking for the last couple of months. So here is just a catch up list of all of the things running through my head that I meant to put down 'on paper'. No particular order.

Fav all time. For my mother's birthday, Ethan and I had gone shopping and bought her a large mexican pottery flower pot. Mom walks in the door on her birthday and E runs up to her so excited and says "Happy Birthday Grandma. We bought you pot!"

A few weeks ago, our smoke alarms went off in the middle of the night. We called in the calvary. 2 fire trucks and 4 police cars showed up. The boys were so excited as we watched from the warm car parked out front and Daddy took care of the men traipsing through my house searching for a non-existent fire. We were given the 'all clear' and went back inside. Ethan went directly to the nearest fireman and asked "Did you see my toys? Are they ok?"

Family was driving in the car. I was ranting to Greg about something and not remembering that the boys were listening to every word. Greg said something I didn't like and I said 'I call BS on that'. Ethan pipes up from the back seat "ya Daddy, I call BS on you."

Christmas morning. Ethan sneaks downstairs and wakes me up ever so gently. This is so out of character for him that I was a little confused. He whispered to me "Mommy, guess who is not here anymore? Santa Clause. But he left his presents."
We get up and go out to the living room and Ethan tells me "Mommy, I think all the presents under the tree are for me." I asked "Don't you think some of them might be for Wyatt?" He thought about if for just a second and very logically said "No. He's been more bad then good this year".

I would like to add something Wyatt has said, but being that he is only 2, he doesn't say much that is intelligible. He has two basic understandable phrases that he pulls out whenever he needs to be heard, though. "booner nooner" and "go cu-grrs" (Boomer Sooner, Go Cougars) Of course Daddy has been teaching him about the sooners since he was born, so that was probably the first words that came out of his mouth. The Go Cougars he picked up on his own by going to The Colony HS football games. Both of these phrases make Daddy ecstatic and Wyatt has been known to use them at the perfect moments to get away with whatever is about to get him in trouble. He is a boy genius.
